NEW OPTION FOR YOUR CHURCH GIVING!!

A New Way to Give

Newburg is embracing technology and has adopted a giving option that may be more convenient for many of our members, the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Program.  It works in the same manner as the programs offered by local gas and electric and many insurance and mortgage companies.  The United Methodist Church's General Council on Finance and Administration has endorsed EFT and recommended the service agency that Newburg is using.

You may choose a donation frequency (quarterly, monthly, semimonthly, or even weekly) and indicate the amount of your contribution for each of the fund(s) Current Fund or Building Fund.  Then complete the remainder of the authorization form, mail it or bring it to the church office, and we will arrange for your savings or checking account to be debited as you selected on your form.

Important Benefits of EFT

The Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) program yields very significant benefits for Newburg and makes life easier for you:

  • The satisfaction of giving to God first
  • Less work for church volunteers in counting, deposits, etc.
  • A more predictable income flow for the church
  • Improved cash management with less labor
  • Easier personal budgeting for you
  • Saving the cost of checks

Traditional Choices Remain

All members who prefer to remain with the current system will continue to receive their offering envelopes just the way they do now.  Participants in the EFT program will have their envelopes discontinued.

Some may feel the need to have something to put in the offering plate even though they give via EFT. Offering plate cards that signify that you are giving via EFT are available from the church office for anyone who would like them.
