 Opportunities for Youth Ministry

Newburg United Methodist Youth Ministry is a group growing together in Christ, through fellowship, worship, fun, missions and much more. We are dedicated to serving Christ by reaching out to each other and those around us. This means taking time to listen to each other's joys and concerns. It means reaching out to the community and the world through service. It means allowing ourselves to be who we are and accepting each other for who they are. We love to have great fun together and to laugh together. We enjoy learning new things and having new experiences.

Our group is a great place to feel the love of God, to grow closer to God, and to build strong relationships and memories that last a lifetime. Join Us!

United Methodist Youth Fellowship -- Mid. High (grades 6-8) and Sr. High (grades 9-12)
United Methodist Youth (UMY) meets most Sunday evenings from 6-8 p.m. and we also have retreats and bigger events for both age groups (e.g. 30 Hour Famine, retreats, hay rides, Christmas Parties) check the youth web site for calendars and exact meeting times. We meet September through May with special activities during the summer such as Bible Studies and trips to Ichthus Christian Rock Festival, Appalachia Service Project and Cedar Point. For more information check out the separate Youth Ministry web page!

Appalachia Service Project -- Senior High (grades 9+), Young Adults & Adults
Appalachia Service Project (ASP) is a construction based ministry that our senior high, college aged adults and adults attend for a week long service project during the summer. Participants must attend planning meetings, workshops and fund raisers in order to participate. During the week youth and adults work on building and rebuilding homes, but most importantly, relationships in the spirit of Christ.

Motown Mission Experience -- Mid-High Youth (grades 6-8)
The Motown Mission Experience is an urban work mission destination in Detroit, MI for Mid-High youth interested in economic disaster recovery work in the name of Jesus Christ. Motown Mission offers an experience deeply rooted in Wesleyan theology and the contemporary UMC's call to mission and service as a means for individual and communal transformation. Our youth participate in various activities that involve greening, feeding and light construction. They also enjoy the city by attending sports events, museums and cultural nights.

get FED
During our Wednesday night program, get FED, our Mid-High and Senior High youth have many opportunities for fellowship and education including Dinner, Bible Study, Real Life Forum and a Coffee House fellowship area. Check the get FED page for more information and schedules.

Sunday School
Our Youth Sunday School Class, "Faith Forward", meets during the 11:00am worship service for Mid and Senior High Youth, grades 6-12. We meet in the Senior High Lounge, which can be found in the lower level education wing. We discuss different topics including Proverbs, love, Jesus' life, temptation and many others!
