Christian Education

The purpose of Christian Education at Newburg is...
  • To empower persons of all ages to grow in Christian faith and discipleship.
  • To empower the faith community to retell the Story and, at the same time, interpret it for the context in which it finds itself in order that persons will discover and develop their gifts to be used in the ministry to which each of us is called.
  • To accomplish our mission, we offer a variety of programming throughout the year in a variety of settings for adults, youths, and children.

5:30pm-6:30pm Cooking with the Bible
Join Deacon Paul for a culinary journey based on Anthony F. Chiffolo and Rayner W. Hesse, Jr.'s Cooking with the Bible. Each week we will sample a different biblically inspired dish and discuss the accompanying passage.

7:00pm-8:00pm The Shack - Perceptions of God, Revisited
Dr. Frank Dunbar will lead a book study of The Shack. The Shack, while clearly a work of fiction, offers a good starting point to discuss our perceptions of God. The class will use the book to examine our underlying assumptions about God and examine some of the different characteristics of God offered in the book.
