Mission Outreach
Newburg United Methodist Church is actively involved in reaching out to a wider community and participates in missions locally, nationally, and internationally. Our congregation provides prayers, support, and financial gifts to many missions and ministries around the world. We feed the hungry, house the homeless, build and renovate homes, educate the young, provide medical assistance to those in need, and provide ministries to show that God cares.
In 2010 Newburg is fielding three mission teams! Our usual Appalachian Service Project team is fifty strong this year; the largest team we have ever sent! There will be a team going to the UMC's Midwest Mission Distribution Center in Chatham, IL. This is one of the centers where the United Methodist Committee on Relief ships disaster aid supplies worldwide from. We also have an opportunity for our younger youth who will participate in the Motown Mission Experience where they will serve on teams helping within the Detroit area itself.
Take a moment to read about the local, national, and international ministries Newburg supports. Consider how you might get involved with one of these ministries. The Missions Committee meets throughout the year to plan and promote ministries and outreach. We welcome all to join us in reaching out to others. Newburg's outreach is making a difference in our own local community as well as all over the world.
