Children & Family Ministries

Children's Ministry Downloads

At Newburg UMC, our prayer is to empower children and their families to grow in Christian faith and discipleship.

To fulfill our purpose, we seek to:

  • Have children experience the stories of scripture in a way that shapes their daily lives

  • Inspire children in their love of God and neighbor through our faith traditions (such as prayer, worship, bible study, hospitality, and mission)

  • Provide opportunities for children of all ages to serve others

  • Support families so that they can build faith-filled homes

  • Offer hands-on ways for children to participate fully in the life of the congregation (as we believe they are present-day disciples, not just future ones!)

Sunday School
Sunday School & Nursery care are offered at both the 9:15 & 11:00 worship services in the Education wing. We seek to provide a fun, engaging, safe, and faith-filled environment for kids of all ages. We hope you will join us as we journey with God together!

Following the children’s message in worship each week, children will be directed to the New Assembly Area for a brief time of music & prayer. Our gathering area is located on the bottom floor of the education wing room 201..

At 9:15 am. Our classes will be separated into three age groups:

  • PreK/K will be in room 101
  • 1st/2nd will be in room 104
  • 3rd/5th will be in room 105
At 11:00 am. Our classes will be separated into two age groups
  • PreK/K will be in room 101
  • 1st/5th will be in room 105
0-3 years
Nursery care is offered in Room 103. This is a place for children to play and be nurtured while their families worship. Our Nursery caregiver, along with warm, experienced, volunteers are provided. Caregivers are welcome to remain with their child. The room has an audio feed from the sanctuary, so you don’t have to worry about missing the service! To find Room 103, exit the sanctuary to the right, go up the stairs and enter the third door on the right.
PreK – 5th Grade
We are using new curriculum this year for all our Sunday school classes. Jesus had a knack for connecting external truths with everyday symbols his audience could touch and taste things like coins and fish. Our hands on curriculum will do the same. When “play” turns into ”active learning” we are teaching in a way that God wired our kids to learn best. Our new curriculum uses lively gizmos, music and unique sensory teaching tools. Everything we need to connect kids to Jesus in a fun unforgettable way!

Parents are kindly requested to meet their child outside their Sunday School classroom after the worship service.
